Featured in Australian Local Council Yearbook

James Street Reserve Community Garden has been featured in The Australian Local Government Environment Yearbook 2011/2012.

The article explores the creative reuse of public land for community gardens and lists the key benefits as:

1. Access to fresh, local food
2. Opportunity for socialisation
3. Opportunity to learn

Our garden is sited as an example of "placemaking - an approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces that involves citizen participation and capitalises on the local community's assets and inspiration, to create a place that promotes health, happiness and wellbeing".
