JSRCG working bee – 5th September 2015

It was a beautiful sunny morning for the first Bee of Spring!

There was weeding, harvesting and planting to be done whilst the compost was turned and distributed to the beds.

Our new co-president at work in the compost…

Andrea (new Seed Queen) in action.

Although Twig is, very sadly, no more, there was no shortage of morning tea for the gardeners… thanks to a great group effort!

After morning tea, Jon instructed us on the creation of solitary bee and wasp habitats…and then we got to have a go at making them too.

Jon shows us how…

Then we got to have a go – with Georgie leading the way.

Thanks to everyone that came along and congratulations to Stephen and Georgie on their recent marriage.

The happy couple demonstrate the latest fashion in wedding bouquets – kohlrabi!!

See you in October,
The Shady Bed.
